
Dr Hyder Abbas is an Ex clinical Director Diabetes
and GP with special interest in Diabetes.
Founder of British Health awareness trust registered charity in UK.
He is Passionate in helping others and increasing health awareness in Asian and wider community. Dr Abbas has worked in Oldham since 2007.
"I enjoy working as a grass roots GP" he says. "Diabetes is about prevention, the cost of diabetes to the NHS is over £1.5m an hour or 10% of the NHS budget. I aim to ensure practice nurses and clinicians are keeping up to date and highly skilled, in helping those with Diabetes and making sure Oldham achieves it key performance indicators on the condition.”
Most of all, Dr Abbas wants to increase awareness amongst in wider community, specifically in the Asian communities where Diabetes prevalence is much higher. Dr Abbas regularly appears on television and has co-ordinated large-scale education campaigns. He is Director and Chairman of the British Ethnic Health Awareness Trust and is passionate about health Promotion.
